"I grew up about thirty minutes north of Ottawa, in the Gatineau Hills. Animals and the outdoors have were an important part of my childhood and early adulthood. My family had two cats, we adopted two dogs, and two rabbits. It was chaotic at times, but I loved it! I now have my first ever pet that I am independently responsible for, my four-year-old domestic shorthair cat named Mia, who I adopted in October 2024. Taking care of Mia has been an important milestone in my life, and I think it has helped me grow and become more responsible overall.

Working for bwd has been the perfect job for me. I get to meet new animals every day, and I get to spend loads of time outdoors with them. I thought I knew a lot about taking care of animals before, but bwd has helped me learn about caring for pets in a way I never could have otherwise. Every single pet is different, and I love to learn about each of them. As a pet parent myself, I know how important it is to find the right people to take care of our furry friend(s) when we can’t, and I am so proud to be part of a company which cares so much and does such a great job! I am looking forward to meeting many more pets in the future, and to continuing to learn and grow here!"
